Cyclone
This piece was created as part of an International Project between encaustic wax artists.
I wanted to create the impression of energy, juxtaposing the depth and tranquility of blue with billowing clouds of gleaming silver reminiscent of the breathtaking power of nature.
I chose swirling and more agitated lines to convey the unpredictable and erratic movement of air, adding dimension and intensity through the pairing of deep grey and bright silver.
While it is inspired by the real world phenomenon, “Cyclone” adopts a otherworldly quality, offering a perspective of the world that is otherwise impossible to see.
