"Cuban Beauty", painted on cradled board, was inspired by a sculpture I saw in a museum in La Havana.
I loved it instantly and felt the need to start sketching the piece from various angles.
I wanted to create a simple organic shape for the figure to contrast with the rough texture of the body.
Together with her background, I see beauty tempered with the rustic and faded charm of the local casas.
