This work was inspired by a lovely wooden sculpture I picked up in Tanzania.
I was captivated by the sensuality of the pose and wanted to convey its intimacy in a painting.
I have really enjoyed using alcohol ink and then resin to give volume and life to the figures, which shine when the light catches them.
This piece is made on box canvas, the edges are painted in white acrylic.
